  • 2016

    Tidal is founded in Toronto by David Colebatch to make cloud migration simpler, more predictable and more transformative for enterprise IT.

  • 2018

    With the first product launched at re:Invent 2017, the first Tidal customer wins go out in newsletters, sharing product updates and cloud migration learnings. Tidal Tools, vSphere integration, source code assessment, and application technology discovery begin taking shape across regular releases.

  • 2019

    Tidal joins the AWS Public Sector Program, becomes an AWS Advanced Tier partner, and launches in the Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Product depth grows with Oracle database analysis, source code analysis, portfolio assessment reports, and the 6R migration recommendation engine.

  • 2020

    Tidal becomes a Google Cloud Technology Partner and introduces interactive Portfolio Insights with savings forecasts and ROI analysis. The team adapts to the remote-work era with all-virtual migration enablement workshops.

  • 2021

    Tidal is named No. 76 on The Globe and Mail's ranking of Canada's Top Growing Companies with three-year growth of 764%. CloudCalculator.com launches for rapid cloud migration business cases, the Projects feature helps organize mass migrations, and Tidal Tools add Apple Silicon support.

  • 2022

    Tidal achieves the AWS Migration & Modernization Competency, becomes a fully managed Microsoft partner, and completes SOC 2 Type II compliance. The Tidal Accelerator platform is unveiled as the next evolution of the product. LightMesh 'Next' rewrite goes live with early customer migrations.

  • 2023–2026

    LightMesh expands with AWS and Azure integrations, spreadsheet uploads, global network search, SMTP configuration for self-hosted notifications, TreeView visualization enhancements, multiple API keys, and DHCP discovery via a new Windows Sevrer Agent. Tidal Accelerator adds new first-party source-code analysis, improved application interviews, AI analysis, business analytics, and the Optimization and Modernization Assessment (OMA) motion to help enterprises discover and prioritize AI-ready modernization use cases. It is this year that the AWS Application Modernization Assessment (AMA) program is born.
