What Is the Requestor Workflow?
The Requestor Workflow is a controlled network request portal built into LightMesh. It enables users, called Requestors, delegated access to submit IP address requests without entering the main IPAM interface. Requestors can submit detailed IP requests that are routed to administrators for review and approval.
With this workflow:

- Users get a simple way to request IPs

Use Case Example:💡
A developer at a large enterprise needs two static IPs for staging VMs. Instead of emailing IT or manually filing a ticket, they log into the LightMesh request portal, submit their request, and it gets routed directly to a network admin for review and approval. Fast, traceable, and secure.
How It Works
1. Assign the Requestor Role
From the User Management dashboard, invite a user and select the Requestor role. This gives them limited, request-only access through a simplified portal.
- Avoids over-permissioning

2. Submit a Network Request
Once logged in, your Requestors can:
- Start a new request
- Set status to submitted or save as draft
- Justify the request (e.g., project purpose or environment)
- Select a subnet and define how many IPs are needed
- Add assignment details: hostname, MAC, interface, and description
- Click Save to submit for approval
Everything stays organized and traceable, no more lost emails or untracked tasks.
3. Review, Approve, Assign
As an admin or owner, you can:
- Search the relevant subnet
- Review request details in a side panel
- Choose to Approve, Reject, or leave Pending, if more review is needed
- Approved requests are instantly assigned and logged in the system
